Fans eager for the long-awaited sequel to Sin City will have to wait a little longer, as the film has been pushed back from its October 4, 2013 release to August 22, 2014.
No reason has been announced as to why this has been done. Co-director Robert Rodriguez has also been busy working on his other sequel, Machete Kills, set to be released September 13. Perhaps he was having more difficultly than anticipated juggling the two films. Perhaps the lack of advertising for the film had a factor. Hopefully, this delay doesn’t have anything to do with the quality of the film.
The new date pits Sin City: A Dame to Kill For within the same month as Guardians of the Galaxy and The Expendables 3. Given that fans have already had to wait a whole eight years since the first Sin City, waiting a little more won’t be impossible. But it, nevertheless, still disappointing.
