On Twitter today, Sylvester Stallone revealed that Harrison Ford, one of the biggest action stars of all time, will be starring in the upcoming The Expendables 3. But he also revealed that Bruce Willis, who made a cameo in the first movie and had a supporting role in the second, will not be featured in the third.

In his tweet, Stallone said the following, “WILLIS OUT… HARRISON FORD IN !!!! GREAT NEWS!!!!! Been waiting years for this!!!!”

I’m assuming that Stallone meant that it’s great news that Ford is in the film, and not that Willis is out. But, it’s possible. Stallone followed the tweet above with this one, “GREEDY AND LAZY….. A SURE FORMULA FOR CAREER FAILURE.” It’s not hard to believe that Stallone is talking about Willis here.

This follows the news that came out a couple weeks ago that Twilight star Kellen Lutz was in talks to join the film. Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews and Randy Coulture are all expected to reprise their roles. Additionally, Jackie Chan, Steven Seagal, Wesley Snipes, Ronda Rousey, Victor Ortiz and Milla Jovovich are all rumored to be in the film. Also rumored to be in the film is Mel Gibson as the villain, which is something I really, really hopes happens.

The Expendables 3 is scheduled to be released on August 15, 2014, which is almost a year away. It will be directed by Patrick Hughes. So, that means that Stallone and the gang better get going on the project pretty soon.

Ford will next be seen in Paranoia, out next week. He’ll then be seen in Ender’s Game on November 1 and Anchorman: The Legend Continues on December 20.

Update: According to the Hollywood Reporter, Willis dropped out of the movie because he demanded that he received $4 million for 4 days of shooting in Bulgaria. He was offered $3 million, but the star wanted a million a day for shooting his part, and Stallone and the gang denied his request.
