Just mere hours after it was announced that it will be premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), the trailer was just released for John Turturro’s next directorial effort, Fading Gigolo.
Easily one of the biggest things to note about the film is that the movie stars Woody Allen in one of the few films where he is not simultaneously writing or directing. Also starring in the film is Turturro, who did write and direct the movie, along with Sharon Stone, Sofia Vergara and Liev Schreiber.
Essentially, the film looks like Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, if it had been directed by Woody Allen. And, hey, I’ve said it once and I will say it again, anything that reminds me of Allen is always a good thing. It doesn’t look like a masterpiece, but it looks like a fun time out at the movies. Plus, Allen got me some chuckles throughout the trailer, which comes as expected.
TIFF will begin on September 5, and will go on through September 13.
