Two different Marvel casting rumors have been spiraling around these past few days. First, there were rumors being spread that actress Elizabeth Olsen has been offered the part of Scarlet Witch in The Avengers: Age of Ultron. Then, today, rumors began to be spread that actor Bradley Cooper was been sought after for the voice of Rocket Raccoon in Guardians of the Galaxy.
Now, The Wrap confirmed that an offer has been made to Cooper, while The Hollywood Reporter also revealed today that Olsen is, indeed, talks for the part.
Latino Review were the ones that originally reported on the news of Cooper being considered for the part earlier today. They based their information on an unnamed source in England. While they say that he was offered the part, no word has been given as to whether he accepted it. Before this news, there were rumors that Adam Sandler and Jim Carrey were being requested for the voice of Rocket Raccoon, but no further word has been provided since that news came out several months ago.
Meanwhile, Bleeding Cool was the one that originally spread the speculation about Olsen being in the new Avengers movie. Olsen will also, reportedly, have to use a European accent for the part. She’ll be joining Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who joined the film a couple months ago as Scarlet Witch’s brother, Quicksilver.
Update: Marvel has officially announced that Bradley Cooper is the voice of Rocket Raccoon in Guardians of the Galaxy.
