Just as the Coen brothers earn heavy praises and accolades for their latest film, Inside Lleweyn Davis, it appears that the duo filmmakers are simultaneously working on their next feature.
The Playlist reports that, at the Telluride Film Festival, Joel Coen revealed that they are currently writing another movie, which would center on an opera singer as the main character.
Here’s the description he gave:
“You always hesitate to mention these things when you are in the middle of them, because sometimes they just go in a drawer and never surface again and then people ask ‘what ever happened to that thing’ for the next 20 years. We are writing something right now where the main character is an opera singer.”
As evident by both Inside Lleweyn Davis and O Brother, Where Art Thou?, among others, the Coen brothers are huge music fans. So their quirky sense of style and humor should be especially interesting to see in the opera scene. To be fair, this doesn’t necessarily mean that this will be their next project, but it certainly sounds like a promising project, should it come together.
Inside Llewyn Davis is set to be released in theaters on December 20.
