Only a couple years after starring in one political biopic (J. Edgar), it appears that Leonardo DiCaprio is looking to star in another, as it has just been announced that the actor is producing and looking to star in a biopic of the life of President Woodrow Wilson.
The Hollywood Reporter reveals that his production company, Appian Way, is making the film based on the book Wilson by A. Scott Berg. While there is no deal currently in place, Warner Bros. would distribute the movie should things work out.
Berg’s book is being compared to last year’s Lincoln at THR, as it “offers up a heroic, larger-than-life Wilson” as well as “several well-narrated dramatic moments that could serve as the basis for a film.”
DiCaprio was last seen in this year’s The Great Gatsby, which was just recently released on DVD and Blu-Ray, and will next be seen in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf on Wall Street at the end of this year.
