While the Internet has been stating that Bryan Cranston will be playing Lex Luther in the upcoming Batman vs. Superman (by the way, nothing official has come out about this, it was all just a rumor that got out of hand), it appears that the Breaking Bad actor has found his real next project, as he is now set to star in a biopic of Dalton Trumbo’s life.
Deadline reports that Jay Roach (Meet the Parents, Game Change) is set to direct the film. The film will be scripted by John McNamara based on the biography by Bruce Cook. This will officially be Cranston’s next major role after Breaking Bad.
For those who don’t know if Trumbo is, he was, at one time, the highest paid screenwriter working in Hollywood. He wrote the scripts for films like The Brave One and Roman Holiday. In 1950, he was sent to prison for refusing to answer to Congress’ House Un-American Activities Committee. He then became the most prolific blacklisted writer in cinema.
