Commissioner Gordon is back, on the small screen, as Fox has just landed a deal to telecast the new drama, Gotham, which will be centered on Batman’s friend.

Deadline reports that the show will center on the origins of the character and how the villains made Gotham their home. The show will take place before Gordon ever meet Batman, who is not intended to be part of the series.

This will not be the first time that Gordon has aired on TV, as he was a character on the iconic live-action Batman show in the 1960s. He was played by Neil Hamilton.
