Tom Clancy Dies at 66

Tom Clancy, the author most notably known for creating the Jack Ryan character, featured in films such as The Hunt for Red October and the upcoming Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, has died. He was 66.

Clancy’s publisher confirmed the news, but did not give a cause of death.

In addition to the books he wrote and the movies based on them, he was also well known for the video games Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon, which featured his name.
