It appears that Talladega Nights and Step Brothers stars Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are going to team up again for their third feature. They have both just signed on to star in Devil’s Night.
The Wrap broke the news on the film, which will be set during the pre-Halloween holiday. It centers on two men who, as kids, were bonded and broken apart by the title holiday. Fifteen years later, they must team up in order to save the neighborhood that fateful day.
Sony has the project, with Farrell’s company Gary Sanchez Productions producing. Writing the script will be Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul (Yes Man).
As someone who felt that Step Brothers was widely overrated, at least by the general public, I can’t seem to be as excited for this news as others. But I will admit that they two have great chemistry together, and, if they have the right script, they can make a good film together. Hopefully this film will be better than their last.
Farrell will next be seen in Anchorman: The Legend Continues at the end of this year. He will also be featured in The Lego Movie next year and is currently filming a role in Welcome to Me. Reilly will also be featured in Anchorman: The Legend Continues, and will also be seen in next year’s Life After Beth. He is currently filming Guardians of the Galaxy.
