Writer/director Cameron Crowe and stars Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, Danny McBride and Rachel McAdams are currently off in Hawaii shooting a movie together, which is currently untitled, and it appears that they’ll soon be joined by Hollywood royalty. Bill Murray has just signed on to star in the upcoming romantic comedy.
The Wrap reported the news on the casting. Murray’s character in the film is still a secret at this time.
The film is a updated version of his script Deep Tiki that has been said to be in vein with his past efforts like Jerry Maguire and Almost Famous. Cooper will play a disgraced defense contractor who heads to Hawaii to oversee a weapons satellite launch. There he falls for a Air Force pilot, played by Stone.
In addition to the stars mentioned above, the film will also feature Jay Baruchel, Alec Baldwin and Edi Gathegi.
Murray will next be seen in The Monuments Men later this year, followed by St. Vincent De Van Nuys and Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel next year. Currently, Crowe’s film has no release date, but it is expected to come out sometime next year.
