Another film has been the 2013 release date dust. First it was Grace of Monaco, then it was Foxcatcher, now George Clooney’s The Monuments Men has been pushed out of its December 18th release date onto early 2014.
The LA Times reveals that the highly anticipated awards contender was moved from its awards-ready release date, stating the release change being due to the unfinished visual effects and incomplete score.
“We just didn’t have enough time,” Clooney told the LA Times. ” “If any of the effects looked cheesy, the whole movie would look cheesy. We simply don’t have enough people to work enough hours to finish it.”
Considering that the film just started shooting in March and wrapped in July, it is understandable that Clooney would not be finished with the film.
“It wasn’t going to be finished, and I wouldn’t want to have my name on it,” Clooney added. “You don’t want it to look like a film that was all done in the computer.”
At this time, it appears that the movie is eying a February 2014 release.
