Well, if you have a good thing going, why stop? That’s what Hugh Jackman, director James Mangold and producer Lauren Shuler Donner appear to be thinking, as the three have all joined negotiations to make another Wolverine movie after this summer’s The Wolverine.
Deadline got the news on the reunion. Mangold is now in talks to write the treatment, but right now it is unclear whether he will be directing as well. Additionally, no story details have been released at this time.
While not a smash hit domestically, pulling in $132 million from a $120 million budget, The Wolverine was enough of a smash overseas to make Fox interested. It has earned $413 million worldwide so far, making it the second best performing X-Men movie behind X-Men: The Last Stand, which earned $459 million.
Jackman will next be seen pulling out the Wolverine claws in next summer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past.
