After the surprise success of the 21 Jump Street reboot and the chemistry found between its two leads, Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum, it seemed inevitable that a sequel would be popping its head around the corner any day now. Sure enough, 22 Jump Street is coming to theaters on June 13, 2014. Now, the first red-band trailer for the film has just been released, and it promises more of the same meta-comedy found in the first film.
I’m not too sure why, but I can’t be completely in love with this trailer. That said, there still is some pretty good stuff in here, and it looks better than your average sequel comedy. I doubt it will be as good as the first—if, for anything, just not having the surprise factor—but it should still be at least a decent time at the movies. We’ll see.
